Adding and removing members
Both commands take one or more logins (usually emails) and are a convenient way to automate onboarding and offboarding, for instance from a script synchronizing your team with your identity provider. See Active Directory Sync for a complete working example.
Proposing members
Proposing a login invites it to join your team. The member is added to the team as pending until they accept the invitation.
dcli t propose-members john.doe@example.com jane.doe@example.comThe command is also available under the pm alias:
dcli t pm john.doe@example.comOptions
By default, Dashlane sends notification emails to the proposed members. The following options let you control these notifications:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
--skip-account-creation-required-alerts | Do not alert about members requiring account creation |
--skip-proposals | Do not send proposal notifications |
--skip-removals | Do not send removal notifications |
--skip-reproposals | Do not send reproposal notifications (for logins that were already proposed before) |
--sender-email <senderEmail> | Email address to use as the sender of the notifications |
For instance, to add members silently:
dcli t propose-members john.doe@example.com --skip-proposals --skip-reproposalsOutput
{
"proposedMembers": { "john.doe@example.com": true },
"refusedMembers": { "jane.doe@example.com": "ALREADY_IN_TEAM" },
"accountCreationRequiredMembers": ["new.hire@example.com"]
}| Property | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
proposedMembers | Record<string, boolean> | Map of proposed login to whether the proposal succeeded |
refusedMembers | Record<string, boolean | string> | Map of refused login to either a boolean or a reason string |
accountCreationRequiredMembers | Array of string | Logins that require an account to be created before being proposed |
Removing members
Removing a login revokes its access to the team. Logins that were only proposed and have not joined yet are unproposed instead.
dcli t remove-members john.doe@example.com jane.doe@example.comThe command is also available under the rm alias:
dcli t rm john.doe@example.comRemoving a member revokes their access to the team’s shared items. This action cannot be undone from the CLI: the login has to be proposed again to rejoin the team.
